ROP2, 6 was preferentially expressed in meristem-like cells (fig. 2d, E), although I only paid attention to leaf morphology in rop26 double mutant, and did not observe phenotype (fig. 9C). However, in leaves, two antagonistic signal pathways, ROP2-RIC4-actin filament and ROP6-RIC1-microtubules, jointly promote the formation of paving cell shape (Fu et al., 2005)(Fu et al., 2009b). Furthermore, Rop6 mutant has been reported to have a wider pavement cell indentation area than wild type.
