Section 3HeadCell® MaintenanceMonthly1.Verify correct non-potable water (NPW) flow. Switch valve open and closed to exercise it. This helps keep the valve from getting stuck open when performing maintenance shutdowns.2.Check the NPW flow meter to make sure the flow is correct. Make sure the float in the meter moves up and down as flow varies.3.Clean the meter if the scale cannot be read clearly. Refer to the meter manufacturer’s instructions provided in the appendix.Every Six (6) Months1.Bypass and shutdown the HeadCell as outlined in shutdown procedures.2.Drain the HeadCell using the grit pump.3.Hose down the entire unit to remove grease and deposits.4.Turn on the grit pump and pump out the rinsed off deposits.5.Inspect trays and hardware for foreign objects or rags. Clean and repair as necessary.6.Refill the HeadCell and startup as outlined in startup procedures.
