We propose to synthesize a set of polyamide emulsifiers for theiruse in invert emulsion drilling fluids at high temperature conditions.Polyamide emulsifiers will be synthesized from polyamines and fattyacids. The latter is widely available and comparatively cheap compound.Polyamide compounds resemble natural products due to the presence ofpeptide bonds in their structure. Additionally, polyamide compounds areliquid at room temperature and do not require solvent system.Moreover, polyamide emulsifiers have been claimed to be thermallystable. Thus, we aim to synthesize emulsifiers which are comparativelycheap, have less or no environmental impact and are thermally stablefor the use in invert emulsion drilling fluids.
