Several types of interviews are available for selecting candidates. Not all of them are appropriate for every situation, and it’s up to HR to counsel the hiring manager on what will work best in each situation:Behavioral Interviews These interviews are based on the premise that past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior. This interview type asks candidates to describe how they have handled specific situations in previous jobs or life experiences. Candidates are expected to be able to describe a situation or problem, the actions they took to resolve it, and what outcome resulted. Interviewers skilled in this type of questioning are able to drill down into the answers to determine the candidate’s depth of experience.
