Marine iguanas are one of the Galápagos’s most iconic species. They are found nowhere else on Earth and their behaviour is unique in the lizard world. It’s hardly surprising, therefore, that they have featured in numerous wildlife documentaries over the years. Despite this, we were still keen to include them in the Oceans episode. They were, after all, a perfect illustration of how currents can bring life to an otherwise barren part of the world. But the question was how to bring freshness to the sequence. Enter cameraman Richard Wollocombe.
