5.7.1 Main Assembly ViewsThe main assembly view should give a clear overall picture of the tool. This presentation should be the result of careful planning, using sectional views, auxiliary views, detail views, etc., to clearly define the complete tool.”BDS-103“Use the minimum number of views necessary to describe the object, while maintaining proper view projections. The number of views required depends on the complexity of the object. Simple objects may only require a single view.Allow adequate space between views for dimensions and callouts.”To date, the XAC drafting standard appears to closely mimic the drafting standards for Boeing Tool Design and Boeing Drafting standards. At a minimum, tool drawings should contain an ISOMETRIC VIEW and/or FRONT VIEW (ELEVATION); TOP VIEW (PLAN); RIGHT VIEW (ELEVATION) or LEFT VIEW (ELEVATION) and enough detail and/or section or auxiliary views to properly describe the tooling construction and/or assembly.
