Blended families often have a tough time of it. It’s never the intention to make life difficult, but when parents, for example, take on children from another marriage, they will have already formed their own ideas and ideals about how children should be brought up. The difference is that the new parent has a lot of adjustments to do, as there is more than child-rearing involved. The whole host of loyalties and insecurities come into play when one tries to build relationships within blended families.
