Transformer: It is estimated that a 20(10 as option)/0.4kV 1,600kVA transformer will be installed, as required by local power bureau, shall be not less than the type of SCB-13. The transformer shall be a dry-type /Y connection group, energy saving unit, complete with tapping on the high voltage winding for a variation of +/-2.5% and +/- 5% of the primary voltage. Tap changing shall be achieved off-load by a set of bolted links to allow taps to be altered. The bolted links are to be proprietary manufactured by the transformer supplier. The exact size of the transformer shall be double checked by the GC/LDI, making due allowance for the final Employer equipment load schedules, plant selections and to ensure a maximum initial load factor of 85%.The estimated size of substation is about 220m², which shall be checked and confirmed by the GC/LDI. The size of substation shall be sized to accommodate necessary infrastructure reservation for the future installation of a second transformer.The transformer windings shall be fitted with two stage internal temperature sensors / thermistors, volt free contacts and terminals to provide a signal to start an integral forced draught fan followed by overheat condition audible and visual alarm indication, together with terminals to facilitate the shunt trip operation of the transformers primary side protection circuit breaker.
