he overall condition of this binocular is very good, and it was recently restored by Suddarth Optical. It is a WWII survivor and likely has a interesting military history. The images are excellent, and are actually breathtaking when used for astronomy. It provides the widest and brightest night sky images I have ever seen. The lenses are coated, though they also have quite a few cleaning marks from the war. Fortunately these cleaning marks have little effect on overall performance. There are NO cracks or chips in the glass or prisms, and no dirt or fungus inside the binocular, though you will find an occasional speck on the prism surfaces as a further reminder of the war it survived. The focus dials has been completely re-lubed and adjust very smoothly and easily. The collimation is excellent and has been set to military standards. There is no case for this binocular, but it is ready to last another lifetime.
